Is it better to go with a travel agent or the actual company when going on a cruise?
My wife and I are wanting to take a cruise to the bahamas and mexico. We weren't sure if it was better to go through a travel agent or the actual cruise line. We found cheap tickets on expedia and other similar sites, but have never been on a cruise. Can someone please give me their experiences?
Full disclosure. We are travel agents. The difference between the deals you find with a travel agent versus what you get directly from a cruise line is that the travel agent may have group deals blocked off with the cruise lines. They will then promote these deals to the public. These deals are usually better than what you would get at regular rates because these groups are usually blocked off a year in advance. You should NEVER pay extra if you book with a travel agent. - (2008-01-29)
