Lima certainly has Peru's most varied nightlife scene. Whether you are into jazz, rock, criollo and Latin, you will find it here. Other top night out spots are located in Miraflores, particularly Barranco. This has transformed from a sleepy writer and artist community during day hours for partying central at night. Although it has a number of high-octane clubs and discos, it also has some of the city's best peñas and bars, especially those with ocean views just past the Puente de los Suspiros, or "Bridge of Sighs". Bars open at about 8pm, but discos and live-music clubs don't generally get started until 10pm or later. Many are open very late, until 3 or 4 am or even later.
